MeYouMe. Mediterranean Youth Meeting new edition is close.
Calabria is getting ready to welcome around 200 people responsible for youth and student associations and ONG from the Mediterranean countries.
More than 60 associations and 150 young people coming from 19 countries (Algeria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Morocco, Montenegro, Palestine, Romania, Serbia, Syria, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey) have already applied.
They are young people committed to partnerships, voluntary work, cooperation in their own countries.
The Meeting encourages confrontation starting from different cultural, religious, economic and political contexts. From this confrontation a dream comes out: commitment to build a Mediterranean of peace, dialogue, symmetric cooperation and development.
The main topic in MeYouMe 2009 will be: “Youth, social inclusion and development in the Mediterranean area”.
With a special look on the Mediterranean area, we will analyse the relation between development and social inclusion, from the point of view of the environmental and social sustainability.We will also think over the role and the responsibility that youth has in creating development. Within their own countries and in relation to the others.
After the residential session that will take place in Falerna (CZ) from 27th to 29th November, a public meeting will take place in Cosenza on Monday 30th November, the Calabrian territory being involved. Many international speakers have been invited to join the Meeting: thanks to them, the chance for confrontation will be rich and qualified.
During the residential session, young participants will have the opportunity to build concrete partnership networks and twinning that will continue during the following year, in order to make MeYouMe a network, including other networks, interweaves, shared projects.
Thanks to the new website (http://meyoume.rexpo.it) we will be able to join the Meeting from this moment, elaborating on discussion topics, projects to build, specific contents.
Everyone will be able to spread the ideas, visions and projects of their own association.
