The 2nd edition of the Mediterranean Youth Meeting closed last Monday in Cosenza.
The Meeting developed on three days through conventions and workshops, until its closing event at the Rendano Theatre.
In the presence of the institutions, represented by Salvatore Perugini, mayor of Cosenza, Mariafrancesca Corigliano, councillor for culture at the Province of Cosenza, and Mario Maiolo, councillor for social and work policies at Regione Calabria, the curtain fell on an event that focused upon young people, social inclusion, integration and sustainable development in the Mediterranean area.
It was not only a meeting for young people coming from different countries, but also a special travel to far and various issues, and a chance for debate and intercultural exchange.
In an enthusiastic atmosphere if active participation and concrete commitments undersigned by the participants in the final statement, MeYouMe ended in a more than positive result, made of satisfaction and gratitude for the ones who made such an important event possible.
Many personalities, scholars and experts attended the meeting and enriched it with their speeches, so providing for its cultural and conceptual basis.
77 associations took part in it: 32 where from the Euro-Mediterranean area, 30 where Italian and 15 came from Calabria. 19 countries were represented by the 152 young protagonists of the meeting, aged 18-30 and representing student associations and NGO. More than 300 young people from 10 advanced schools from Cosenza and surroundings joined the final convention.
Enthusiasm and joy among whom had the chance to live this experience were unlimited.
